Welcome to The George Hotel, where we blend comfort and class in true Yorkshire fashion, with well-kept ales and modern British menu working around the best seasonal ingredients from local growers and suppliers. Our field to fork philosophy ensures our diners receive some of the best produce our region has to offer.
Let us take the stress out of the festive period and join us for a cosy Christmas Party, a hassle free Boxing Day Brunch, a Gala Tasting Menu to welcome in 2020, or just a glass of warm mulled wine by our roaring wood fire.
We will be pleased to assist if any of your party has specific dietary requirements.
Our Christmas Fare party bookings are asked to give final numbers for each dish required one week prior to your chosen date. A deposit of £10.00 per person is required and should be received by The George within seven days of you making your booking to secure your choice of date. There will be no increase in prices for any seasonal parties held during January 2020.
Once again, our Boxing Day Brunch replaces the traditional lunch we have offered for many years. It will be available from 9.30am through until 1.30pm. Bookings are highly recommended, as there is always a large gathering in town for The Hunt Meet. All prices include 20% VAT.
There are a limited number of tables available for our Tasting Menu Dinner and games on New Year’s Eve. Choice can be made on the evening, but we do require a deposit of £35.00 per person within a week of making your booking.
